WordBot - Privacy Policy

Overview
WordBot is a browser extension that lets you correct, translate, fact-check, and generate text using AI models. It connects directly to third-party AI providers — there is no intermediary server operated by Yesian.
What data WordBot accesses
- — the text you highlight on a webpage and choose to process via the right-click menu
- — the hostname and document language of the current page, sent as context hints to the AI provider
- — the keys you manually enter for your chosen AI provider
Where data is sent
When you trigger an action, your selected text is sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you have configured:
- — api.openai.com
- — api.anthropic.com
- — generativelanguage.googleapis.com
No data is sent to Yesian or any other third party. The extension makes no network requests other than to the AI provider you select.
What data is stored locally
- — stored in your browser's synced storage (chrome.storage.sync), encrypted by Chrome
- — your preferred language, provider, and model selections
- — token counts, request counts, and estimated costs per model, stored locally (chrome.storage.local)
All stored data remains in your browser profile. You can clear it at any time from the extension's settings.
What WordBot does NOT do
- Does not collect analytics or telemetry
- Does not track your browsing activity
- Does not send data to Yesian servers
- Does not use cookies
- Does not share data with third parties beyond the AI provider you choose
- Does not store or log the text you process
Permissions explained
- — to save your API keys, settings, and usage statistics locally
- — to add WordBot actions to the right-click menu
- — limited to the three AI provider API domains listed above
Third-party services
Your use of the AI providers is governed by their respective privacy policies:
